Mahatma O'Riley and the Horsehead Crunchers date from about 1976 - 1979. Described as Reading's answer to the Bonzo Dog Band or to quote lead singer Alex Dawson "If we'd been any good we'd have been the Pogues", this bunch of nutters was captured by the lens at a band competition at Reading University. The bloke behind Alex is Ken. Thought you'd like to know that. Also he's holding a cardboard parrot.
